May 17, 2008

METALLICA played a benefit show Wednesday night (May 14) at the 2,200-seat Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles. All proceeds from the show will go to the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, a nonprofit music school for low-income students that was co-founded by RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS bassist Flea. The opening act was SCARS ON BROADWAY, the new group featuring SYSTEM OF A DOWN guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan. Money raised from the show will go towards programs, operations and scholarships at the school, as well as a summer camp program and funds for a new building.

Footage from METALLICA's soundcheck, tuning room, and a performance clip of "Fight Fire With Fire" with a special guest appearance by Flea from RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS can be viewed below.
